Ford Galaxy, S-MAX: Mounted With Visteon Technologies

A wide array of Visteon high technology features would be offered in the newest models of the Ford Galaxy and the Ford S-MAX. These two Ford vehicles are the latest vehicle models to be presented and for sale in Europe. And with these Ford vehicles being new, up to date, and known for a futuristic appeal and touch, the Visteon Corporation’s set of high tech features on climate, interior, and electronics would very much blend in the vehicles well.
According to Michael Enders, the director of the Ford Customer Group CD car program especially for Visteon, the Ford Motor Company is getting the best support out of Visteon. After all, according to him, Visteon is making sure that the features offered for Ford vehicles are well suited for the Ford range of models and would surely bring the vehicles to a whole new level of existence. He further explains, “Visteon content on the Galaxy and S-MAX has been developed to meet Ford’s demand for supreme driving quality and high levels of interior sophistication. Both these new models support Ford’s new kinetic design philosophy, which expresses ‘energy in motion’, and will filter through its future model range.”
Visteon may not be focusing on creating the best kind of Ford parts like Ford Aerostar parts; however, the company makes sure that they do supply Ford vehicles with cool and unique features. There are some 127 Visteon items that could be found on both Ford vehicles. These have been grouped further into 48 products that has specific functions and specific work loads.
If you were able to go visit the 2006 Geneva Motor Show, you may have already taken a look at these Visteon products made for the Ford Galaxy and the Ford S-MAX. In fact, the Geneva Motor Show for this year became the event where Ford had purposely intended to show off their collaboration with Visteon.

Ford Econoline Van: In Production Since 1961

The rest of the world knows this line of vehicles from the Ford Motor Company as the Ford Econoline Van or the Ford E series. However, if you travel to the Philippines, you would then know that in this region and area, the Ford Econoline Van is marketed and known as the Ford Chateau Wagon. Take a closer look though and you would notice that the Ford Chateau Wagon is just a similar vehicle but has its differences with the Ford Econoline Van.
1961 was the year that the production of the Ford Econoline Van started. It was manufactured to be a full size van and it was mounted and crafted using the FR VN platform. Competition for this van includes the Chevrolet Express, the GMC Savana, the Dodge Sprinter, the Mercedes Benz Sprinter, and the Freightliner Sprinter. This line of full size vans were made for both cargo and passenger transportation. Looking at Ford’s line up for vehicles, the Ford Econoline Van and the whole Ford E series is very much related to the company’s F series which is a line of pick up trucks.
The Ford Econoline Van is already on its fourth generation of versions for this vehicle. The first generation was known for it became a success for utility companies that included the Bell Telephone System. It was then a cargo van and could take in eight passengers inside. As per the second generation of Ford Econoline Vans, the engine was now moved from the rear up to the front. In 1975, the third generation came about. It held more ergonomic controls as well as a full frame design. Come 1983, the logo of Ford that was a blue oval was now integrated into the front grille of the van. The fourth generation came in 1992 and this was a redesigned version. This time around, the Ford Econoline Van came with a vast choice of engines for patrons’ various preferences and needs.

Ford Fiesta and Fusion's Sales Continue to Rise

The Ford Fiesta and the Ford Fusion has been refreshened for the automobile market. And now, this has assisted greatly in keeping the sales and the numbers up. So far, the Ford Focus has remained the best selling vehicle for the Ford of Europe. In fact, for this year, it has already sold some 157,000 units already and yet the year has not yet ended. On the other hand, the Ford Fiesta is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, 2006. Closely following suit is success for it has experienced an increase of some five percent in sales. Last April alone, it sold some 27,100 units.
The first four months of 2006 proved to be quite a prediction for the months ahead for Ford in Europe. You see, during this first quarter, Ford in Europe experienced selling 131,00 Ford Fiestas which is actually a nine percent rise in sales compared to the same period for last year. If you put the Ford Fusion’s sales along with the Ford Fiesta’s, the total sales went up to 162,800 units which actually equates to a nine percent increase.
According to Stephen Odell, the vice president of marketing, sales, and service of Ford of Europe, “As market leader in the UK, Ford sales feel the affect of slower demand in that region more than others. We are fully confident that we will retain overall market leadership for the year in the UK, without resorting to pursuing unprofitable business. Elsewhere, we continue to have tremendous success in emerging markets, which we expect to continue to grow strongly in the future.”

Ford Parts Online Offers Greatest Discounts on Top Quality Ford Explorer Parts

Ford’s tradition of excellence is evident in every vehicle that carries a Ford nameplate. History of the automotive industry is never complete without the names of Ford autos such as the Model T or the “Tin Lizzie,” the Ford Mustang, the Ford F-Series, the Ford Ranger, the Ford Thunderbird, and the Ford Explorer, which all have created an impact in the auto market. The name “Ford” itself has become synonymous with “automobile” to almost everyone throughout the years. One of its contemporary and most popular vehicles is the Ford Explorer, the best-selling Sport Utility Vehicle in its class since its introduction in 1991. Among the most sought after replacement Ford parts for the Ford Explorer are Ford headlights and other Ford lights, Ford wheels, Ford mirrors, and Ford front bumper. Keeping your Ford explorer in tip-top shape and condition all the time is important for it to maintain its high level of performance. This is especially true if you are often taking this SUV off-road. Driving conditions off-road make things harder for your vehicle parts, especially the engine and the external or body parts. Parts like your Ford wheels and tires may eventually wear out; hence they need replacement. Accidents are also major factors that contribute to your auto parts’ early deterioration. Parts such as the Ford Explorer bumper, Ford hood and the Ford Explorer fender are the ones that suffer most damages during a collision since they are designed to absorb the force of the collision so as to diminish damages to other parts of the vehicle and of course, to the occupants. When totally wrecked, you have no other option than to replace them. It is important to get your replacement auto parts from trusted sources to ensure the highest quality of these parts and their long lasting service. In the end they are far more inexpensive compared to extra cheap and low quality auto parts since they lessen chances of another repair or replacement, which would require you again to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars.

Racing Series For Ferrari Owners

If you bought a Ferrari, you likely made that purchase for investment reasons, you tell yourself. And that is likely true, but what is also true is that you bought it because you love to drive a sports car fast, it cannot be denied. If this describes your relationship to your Ferrari, and if you have had some race training and experience, then you might be ready to participate in the North American Ferrari Challenge Series for non-professional racers who are Ferrari owners competing in Ferrari racing against each other.

Ferrari selects a different model vehicle to feature each year of the Ferrari series. For this year, F430 Challenge with a booming 479 hp is the car of choice. The rules stipulate that the drivers compete for fun and in a sense of "fair play." It is not a jumping-off point for the aspiring race car driver; instead, it is an end unto itself. The Ferrari Challenge Series is sanctioned by the Grand American Road Racing Association.

The series will also be host to the Ferrari Shell Historic Challenge. Vintage Ferrari racing is the hook that draws avid fans to the track to see these lovely vehicles. These races are open to unmodified Ferraris as well as race Maseratis built before the 1980s. They are also open to vintage Alfa Romeos that team Scuderia Ferrari raced during the pre-World War II years.

Several of the races in the series will also showcase Formula One vehicles under private ownership and the FXX, a special 800 horsepower prototype. On the same weekends of the Challenge series, Ferrari owners can participate in Ferrari Driving Clinics. Expert instruction is available to help you get the most out of your sports car, and you will spend time in workshops along with time behind the wheel of your Ferrari, with instructors providing tips to help improve your skills and get the most out of your vehicle.

These Challenge races for Ferrari owners are held all over North America. Florida, Virginia, California, and Montreal will provide race tracks that will host the events. They included the Homestead-Miami Speedway, the Infineon Raceway, the Virginia International Raceway, and Le Circuit earlier this season. Upcoming races will be held at the California Speedway and Laguna Seca in August. The Challenge series culminates in a World Finals, to be held in Italy in October. The best owners from Italy, Europe and North America bring their Ferraris together to compete for the glory of becoming the overall champion of all the series.

Jonathon Blocker is a Ferrari aficionado who is intimate with the history and variety of Ferrari cars. Mr. Blocker writes articles sharing his expertise on the Ferrari family, both new and collectible. The North American Ferrari Challenge Series is open to the public, and they are allowed to visit the paddock area to look at how a Ferrari race car is assembled and take pictures.

Ferrari Has Become Unanimous With Speed - Prestige And Elegance

Ferrari is an Italian sports car manufacturer based in Maranello and Modena, Italy. Ferrari cars have been made since 1970, with its speed and elegance epitomised and embodies the ethos of it's founder Enzo Ferrari.

Ferrari prepared and successfully raced various drivers in Alfa Romeo cars until 1938, when he was officially hired by Alfa as head of their racing department.

A Ferrari is suposed to be black, red,or yellow. The original Ferrari color was yellow and not Red as many people think.

Ferrari also has an internally managed merchandising line that distributes everything from eyewear, pens, perfume, clothing, high tech bicycles to laptop computers bearing the Ferrari brand.

Ferrari has become unanimous with speed, prestige and elegance. Ferrari's cars are among the most desirable of vehicles to own and drive, and are one of the ultimate status symbols of wealth in the world.

A Ferrari is very affordable if you don't mind buying a used vehicle. A Ferrari is definitely a who and not a what!

Ferrari cars, are one of the most wanted vehicles on the planet, usually due to both the companies and vehicles reputations, they are also regarded as a sybmol of success.

Ferrari F40 is one of the fastest and most expensive ferrari cars. Ferraris are an idea of life as much as a car, and they've kept their romance intact, right up into this age of computer-generated everything.

A Ferrari is, to many, more than just a car: it is a work of art. It is like no other car in the world, the smell of the leather, the sound of the exhaust, nothing comes close.

A Ferrari is typically not a car to drive on a daily basis, but it certainly can be driven often, giving the owner a sense of pride and a taste of the Ferrari mystique.

Ferrari road cars, noted for magnificent styling by design houses like Pininfarina, have long been one of the ultimate accessories for the rich. Ferrari is the oldest team left in the championship, not to mention the most successful: the team holds nearly every Formula One record. Ferrari has used the cavallino rampante on official company stationery since 1929. Ferrari's first models were sports/racing cars quite different from the grand touring models that followed. Ferrari quickly moved into the Gran Turismo market, and the bulk of the company's sales remain in this area. Ferrari entered the mid-engined 12-cylinder fray with the Berlinetta Boxer in 1971. Ferrari street cars have a badge that is similar to Ferrari’s racing badge. Ferrari car's quality and reliability is legendary and with Charles Hurst' heritage and service expertise provided by our Ferrari car dealers you need look no further.

In the mid 1990s, Ferrari added the letter "F" to the beginning of all models (a practice quickly abandoned after the F512M and F355, but recently picked up again with the F430). The Ferrari F430 is a two-seater that is available in two forms; the Berlinetta and the Spider. The F430 has been produced since 2004 and production continues to date.

Ferrari - The History of an Italian Legend

Ferraris are one of the most recognizable symbols of wealth and status in the world. Their history starts with Enzo Ferrari, the company's founder. He never wanted to build racecars-he wanted to race himself.

Instead, Ferrari founded his company, Scudiera Ferrari, as a sponsorship company for racecar drivers. Originally independent, it soon became a division of Alfa Romeo.

During World War II, Alfa Romeo was taken over by Mussolini as part of the war effort. Ferrari left Alfa Romeo, but his company was forced to help the war effort by selling aircraft parts and machine tools.

Ferrari moved his factory to Meranello, where he started making racecars. The racing teams he sponsored became influential in racing from the end of World War II. He also began to make commercial sports cars to support his racing business.

Fiat bought a small share of the company in 1965. In 1969, they increased their share to 50%. Ferrari stayed on as managing director until the early 70's. He died in 1988, at the age of 90.

Enzo Ferrari was known for his eccentricities, including his famous contempt for his commercial customers. He was upfront about the fact that he only built and sold commercial cars to fund the racing end of his business. Ferrari claimed to dislike his customers because they bought his cars for the status symbol, not for performance.

Fiat increased their stake in the company to 90% in 1988, after the founder's death. Today, Fiat has an 85% share in the company. Enzo's second son, Piero, owns 10% of the company and acts as Vice President.

Today, Enzo Ferrari's cars live on as symbols of wealth and status, and his racecars continue to make an impact in the world's most prestigious racing competitions.

Ferrari DrawingsFerrari Drawings

Ferrari, just the name gets me excited! Drawing Ferraris is something I have done since many years back and I never get tired of it. For me drawing a Ferrari is like physically experiencing the car as if it was right there in front of me. I learn more about the lines of the car and see lines that I would normally not notice when just seeing a picture of a Ferrari.

My favorite Ferrari to draw is probably the Enzo or the 250 GTO, both very different cars from different eras. Doing a Ferrari Enzo drawing is always exciting, because this car is so extreme and looks like no other. And because of the sharp edges it makes it a very challenging car to draw. While a Ferrari 250 GTO drawing is very hard to draw correctly because of the beautiful curves this car has. Then again the reward of pulling it off is totally worth the frustrating hours getting those lines right! A Ferrari F40 drawing is also very special to do, this car is so raw and its always a challenge to get that rawness to come alive in the drawing.

My best advise on how to improve your car drawings is simply to spend more time on them. For example if you are not fully satisfied with the front lights, don’t just continue with the drawing and hoping that the lights will get better by some magical touch! No, look at the lights and don’t give up on them until you are fully satisfied with them, then move on to the next part of the car drawing.

If you love Ferrari you should get your favorite pencil and sit down with a clean sheet of paper and just relax and start sketching your favorite Ferrari. Don’t give up to quickly, just focus on the general shape of the outward lines of the car and you will soon see how the sketch is becoming better. Remember patience is the key to success when drawing a Ferrari.

Mercedes Performance Parts - The Building Blocks of Every Mercedes Benz Car

Mercedes Benz, or what people call today as either “Mercedes” or “Benz” is a German automobile car brand that has fast become a status symbol for the rich and famous.

Daimler Benz AG, the company that used to produce Mercedes Benz Cars was formed from the merging of two companies namely Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft (DMG) and Benz & Cie in June 28, 1926. These two companies started to work together due to the arising need that rooted a troubled German economy during the World War 1. They finally merged in 1926 and became Daimler-Benz AG. Today, Mercedes-Benz cars are already owned by DaimlerChrysler AG.

The name “Mercedez“ poses a lot of questions about where it really originated from. In 1899, DMG built automobiles at Unterturkheim, which were successfully raced by Emil Jellinek, an automobile dealer and enthusiast. His daughter's name was Mercedes and this name was painted on the automobiles for good luck. Jellinek somehow inspired the creation of the first in the DMG Mercedes series which is the seminal 1900 DMG model.

Mercedes Benz cars are known for their technological innovations and their emphasis on safety. They were first to introduce the safety cage, anti-lock brakes, airbags, traction control and many other safety features that are standard in every car they produce.

With this rich history, it's a guarantee that every Mercedes Benz car produced represents the company's priority features, which are luxury, safety and technology.

But a Mercedes Benz without its performance parts can never be a real Mercedes Benz. These Mercedes performance parts are the ones that make-up this car. Without them, this car won't even function at all.

Mercedes performance cars include any part that performs a specific function that contributes to the overall performance of your Mercedes Benz car. These performance parts may be your ignition coil, spark plugs, radiators, oxygen sensors, fuel injectors, fuel filters, A/C condensers and other performance parts. Each of these parts has a vital function that should never be taken for granted.

It is best to know when to replace these parts in order to prevent future car troubles. You would not want to be stuck on the road just because the parts you bought were defective or didn't last that long enough. Choose only reliable Mercedes performance parts for greater satisfaction.

Mercedes Benz Parts Satisfy Expectations

Innovation has long been an adage at Mercedes-Benz. The company has always been involved with technological progress in manufacturing safer, cleaner and more efficient vehicles. Mercedes-Benz has always been recognized as the car of people with wealth and recognition. Mercedes Benz was the driving force behind innovations such as the anti-lock braking system (ABS), the airbag, active suspension and ceramic brakes. These improved technologies have saved countless lives.

Ever since the company was established, all Mercedes Benz cars manufactured and carrying the Mercedes symbol was known for their high quality. In December 1900, Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft (DMG) supplied a client named Emil Jellinek with the world's first Mercedes-brand motor vehicle which followed the name of Jellinek's daughter, Mercédes. From the early stages, Mercedes Benz vehicles have set standards in quality, in technology and in luxury. Nowadays, Mercedes is one of the world's most successful premium-quality automotive brands, with some 6.4 million customers having about 9.5 million Mercedes-Benz passenger cars. In 1900, the annual production of DMG was just 96 vehicles, made almost completely by hand through a workforce of 344 people. In 1913, assembly lines paved the way for volume production at lower costs and, from the time when Jellinek's first ordered in 1900, Mercedes-Benz has built a total of 19 million passenger vehicles. For the first time in 1999, the company sold over a million passenger cars in one year.

The majority of Mercedes Benz parts are made by the original equipment manufacturers parts (OEM parts). Packed performance, distinct style and design are reflected not just in every model but in all Mercedes Benz parts as well. All Mercedes Benz car parts can be used not only for Mercedes models but also for various car makes. But still, the right specifications and features of the car must be the highest concern in picking the right product.

There are many options of Mercedes Benz parts and accessories in the market, from deluxe to sporty car makes and extraordinary car parts. Innovations organized by Mercedes are shown not only in their own models but in almost all car make in the big business.

At Mercedes-Benz, customer needs are always handled efficiently. The company provides parts from headlamp to rotors and many more, whatever the customer calls for. Aside from the style, look and design, the quality of Mercedes-Benz parts are always not taken for granted.

Mercedes-Benz Delivers 4-Door Drop-Top

Mercedes-Benz confirmed the rumor that spread like wildfire in the previous months. The rumor is about a 4-door convertible that comes with a fascinating drop-top. The new convertible from the automaker named Ocean Drive, will make its debut early next month at the 2007 Detroit Auto Show.

At a glance the new convertible appears like a decapitated S600 but a closer look suggests sophistication and state-of-the-art quality. It is given a unique body work that boasts large grille that also serves as Mercedes-Benz hood ornament. The door handles are mated to the striking architecture of the vehicle. The vehicle is also equipped with distinctive LED-based Mercedes-Benz headlights and taillights. In addition, 4 Lamborghini doors Mercedes-Benz are integrated to create a breathtaking vehicle.

To create a catchier and more indulging convertible, Mercedes-Benz integrated Ocean Drive's power operated soft-top behind the rear seats. The automaker's Airscarf heating system is also fitted onto the four seats to allow comfy driving even in colder weather conditions.

Mercedes-Benz did not give information about the production model of the car. Further, they are claiming that the mentioned convertible is not just a concept but a design study. According to auto analysts, automaker's decision regarding the production version will be influenced significantly by how the vehicle will be received by the auto market. When Mercedes-Benz finally decides to mass produce the vehicle, it will be its first production four-door convertible since the 1960s. More information about Mercedes-Benz Ocean Drive design study will be revealed by the automaker during Detroit show press days which is scheduled on January 7 to 9 next year.

Mercedes-Benz is a German brand for cars, trucks, buses and coaches, which are produced for Daimler-Benz AG. The latter's inception can be reckoned on June 28, 1926. Mercedes is now owned by Daimler-Chrysler AG. The brand name is applied to the models of one of the premier automakers today.

The automaker has introduced auto breakthroughs both in the past and present. In 1908, Daimler-Benz and Chrysler agreed on the "merger of equals," which eventually created DaimlerChrysler AG.

Mercedes-Benz pride convertibles include the 2007 CLK-Class priced at $46,200-$89,200, SL-Class $94,800-$186,000, and SLK-Class $43,350-$62,500.

Riding Bliss With Mercedes-Benz Parts

Cars of the rich and famous. This is what usually comes to mind when people talk about Mercedes-Benz. Since its establishment, Mercedes-Benz cars have been regarded as cars of high quality and top class. The Mercedes-Benz brand is basically a line-up of cars manufactured and marketed by the Daimler-Chrysler company. From day one, the company has concentrated on and not settled for anything less than optimum quality and state of the art engineering for their cars. While this has resulted to expensive car costs and a slow rate of production compared to other brand makes, Mercedes-Benz was unaffected and even flourished as its target market unwaveringly continued to patronize and support its automobiles and auto parts. And who else comprise this target market but those who can afford and very willing to shell out money in exchange for high-end cars: the rich society.

For a little history, the name Mercedes and Benz actually have two separate origins. Mercedes is the name of the daughter of Emil Jellinek, an Australian dealer who used Daimler cars in races using the name of his daughter. The name Benz came from auto giant Karl Benz who founded several companies that includes Benz & Cie, which later merged with the Daimler company. After the companies’ official merger in 1926, the name Mercedes-Benz was used.

The logo of Mercedes-Benz is a three-pointed star emblem that signifies power-packed performance, distinct style and design, and a higher class of cars. And these traits are not just reflected in every Mercedes-Benz car – it applies to each Mercedes-Benz car part as well. After all, it is not fitting for any Mercedes-Benz car to be equipped with low quality and mediocre parts that do not stand out from the rest of the auto parts in the industry. As Mercedes-Benz cars never fail to garner stares and admiration wherever its wheels are rolled because of its elegant distinction, you can be sure Mercedes-Benz parts work in the same league.

Since day one, Mercedes-Benz has set its own standards for each auto part they produce and sell in the market. Image is something Mercedes-Benz takes seriously, and they make sure everything else about the cars and car products back up their image and never disappoints. Careful planning is always done to make sure the essential Mercedes-Benz characteristics are imbibed in every Mercedes-Benz part.

More than style and supreme quality, however, Mercedes-Benz parts offer something else: versatility. It is apparent that not all can own a Mercedes-Benz car, but anyone can still reach that ultimate driving luxury the Mercedes-Benz brand offers as Mercedes-Benz parts can be used for many other car models. A wide array of these great parts of different types and designs are available in the market, both in traditional stores and online. So whether yours is a sports car or an everyday auto, you can keep it running as smoothly and as finely as Mercedes-Benz cars with the Mercedes-Benz car parts installed. It’s never impossible to be of that same league as the rich and famous with Mercedes parts.

According to the auto manufacturer, they gave the special edition vehicle such a name because it was actually derived from the starting number that was given to the Mercedes Benz 300 SLR. And what is the big deal about the Mercedes Benz 300 SLR? Let us just simply say that this vehicle was that that brought a new wave of victory for the company when it was driven by Stirling Moss and Denis Jenkinson.

As per this new Mercedes Benz SLR McLaren, this one would be having the same number found on its trunk. You can use the vehicle to speed and zoom from zero to a speedy 62 miles per hour in just 3.5

Aston Martin May Be Sold This Week

Ford is experiencing the worst problem that it has faced in its entire existence. As a part of their restructuring plan, aside from cutting down the number of vehicles delivered to rental fleet, they have announced that one of their luxury brands has been put up in the market and is currently for sale. There have been many rumors as to who would buy the luxury brand. The brand in question is, of course, that one which created the car made famous by James Bond - the Aston Martin.

Reuters recently reported that the Ford Motor Company may reveal the sale of Aston Martin within this week. The leading provider of news all over the world reported that the brand may be sold for more than $865 million. A reliable source revealed that the sale may be concluded as early as this week although it is not yet being confirmed by Ford. In fact, not a word has come out of Ford regarding the issue after Reuters reported the projected date of the sale.

According to Reuters, Formula One team Prodrive seems to be the most possible owner of the marque. Reports added that the Formula One team is working with Egypt’s Naeem investment bank for financial aid perhaps. Although there are other bidders that may come out as the new owner of the luxury performance car brand, Prodrive is being viewed as the new machine that will shape the future of Aston Martin. Other interested bidders include the UK buyout firm Doughty Hanson. It seems that Ford is having talks with a host of interested parties for the sale of Aston Martin. If new developments arise, the projected time of the conclusion of the deal may still be delayed.

Another party interested in the acquisition of Aston Martin is the Syrian-born property tycoon Simon Halabi.

It can be remembered that Ford announced last year that they are looking to sell the ailing luxury brand in order to generate the much needed funds for other businesses that the company is in. The decision was reached after the further slide in terms of sales being experienced by the U.S. car maker. Although they have announced that they are willing to sell the brand either partially or entirely, it seems that the talks being conducted lead to the complete sale of the brand. While the sale of the luxury brand is not enough to completely stop the financial problem of Ford Motor as effective as EBC pads in stopping a car but it will definitely give Ford much needed boost in terms of financial status.

While Ford is selling the brand, Ford announced in January that the brand is in good standing due to renewed interest in the brand. The interest of the public on the brand may have been brought on by the talks surrounding the sale of the brand. And, of course, the appearance of Aston Martin cars on James Bond movies certainly did help.

Aston Martin- A Car With a Movie Screen History

Have you ever wondered where the car company name of Aston Martin originated? With headquarters situated in Warwickshire, England, the Aston Martin Lagonda Limited line of luxury cars gathered its name from a hill climber named Aston Clinton and one of the founding fathers of the company, Lionel Martin. The history of the Aston Martin is rather intriguing, seeing as it earned the esteemed respect of being the glamorous auto selection for the series of James Bond books and movies.

The first mention of the vehicle came in the seventh 007 novel, "Goldfinger" (1964), promptly followed by a showing on the silver screen in the movie of the same title. The Aston Martin was then regarded as the company car in "GoldenEye" (1995) and his private vehicle in "Tomorrow Never Dies" (1997). Additional Aston Martin models also made appearances in a variety of James Bond films, including the Volante and Vantage in "The Living Daylights" (1987), the Vanguish in "Die Another Day" (2002). The new DBS was even featured in the latest Bond flick, "Casino Royale" (2006).

The History of Aston Martins

The Aston Martin car company was founded in 1913 with the help of Lionel Martin and Robert Bamford. The two worked with one another to produce their first car under the company name, which incorporated the chassis of a 1908 Isotta-Fraschini and a four-cylinder Coventry-Simplex engine. Before the production of their first car took place, the company would have to overcome the obstacle of World War I, which had both owners serving their country under different branches of military. All of their machinery was lost in the war effort.

After the war, the company was re-founded in Kensington and rejuvenated with new car designs. In 1920, Bamford left the company and funding started to come from a different resource. By 1922, the company produced cars that fared quite well in the French Grand Prix, actually setting records in speed and endurance. Unfortunately, the company went bankrupt in 1924 and was bought by Lady Charnwood, only to see failure again in 1925. The factory closed in 1926, prompting Martin to walk away from the business.

That same year, the company was renamed Aston Martin Motors and received the backing of an assortment of wealthy investors. A known designer was brought in and racers, such as the 1929 Aston Martin International, the Le Mans, and the Ulster became quite successful. It wasn't until 1936 that the company decided to produce cars that were suitable for the open road.

The Second War World slowed production, but in 1947, the company underwent yet another change in leadership. The cars now showcased the signature letters of "DB", marking the initials of the managing director, David Brown. A number of DB series cars flourished, ranging from the DB2 in 1950 to the DB V8 of the 1970s. The V8 lasted until 1988 until the Virage line was introduced, followed by the Vantage in 1992. Several other models would trail, including the V12 Vantage (1999), the V12-engine Vanquish (2001), the convertible DB9 Volante (2004), and the 2006 V8 Vantage sports car.

Aston Martin Cars

Throughout the history of Aston Martin vehicles, there have been many different pre-war and post-war GT and supercars introduced to the public. Before the war, the company was responsible for models, such as the Aston Martin Standard Sports (1921-1925), Aston Martin International Le Mans (1932), and the Aston Martin 15/98 (1937-1939). After the war passed on, a host of "DB" series cars were created, including the Aston Martin 2-Litre Sports (also known as the DB1; 1948-1950), Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato (1961-1963), Aston Martin DB7 (1993-2003), and the 2004 Aston Martin DB9.

Supercars, such as the Aston Martin V8 Vantage hit the market from 1977 to 1989, which was named the First Supercar of Britain. It was valued for its ability to reach speeds of up to 170 mph. During the 90s, the Aston Martin Virage, Aston Martin Vantage, and Aston Martin V8 Coupe/V8 Volante were prime. With the Virage, the public embraced the possibilities of a sleeker, modern design and improved acceleration.

Currently, consumers may purchase Aston Martin cars, such as the V8 Vantage and the V8 Vantage Roadster, which is a light, yet pretty strong vehicle. The DB9 and the DB9 Volante are also on the market, which offers buyers the optional Sport Pack upgrade. The Vanguish S is available today as well, which can reach a top speed of 200 mph.

The Future of Aston Martin Cars

There have been numerous concept cars created throughout the years, including the 1980 Aston Martin Bulldog and 1993 Lagonda Vignale. A recent concept has emerged for the company, which comes in the form of the Aston Martin Rapide. It is likely that this model will become the latest in the line of cars, which will offer a longer, Grand Tourer-style that seats four. Perhaps, you may even see the limited edition line of the Aston Martin DBS that appeared in the Casino Royale film (only 300 of these exist).

Ford Closes Aston Martin's $848M Sale

The Ford Motor Co., in the second quarter of this year, will close the controversial sale of its British luxury sports car brand. Aston Martin, after twenty years with Ford, was valued at $925 million. Ford retained a small stake which is worth $77 million hence the purchaser acquired the brand for $848 million.

Under the terms of the sales agreement announced at Aston Martin's headquarters last Monday in Gaydon, England, the automaker will sell Aston Martin to a consortium led by motor racing entrepreneur David Richards. His partners include Aston Martin enthusiast John Sinders and two Kuwait investment firms - the Investment Dar and the Adeem Investment Co. Ford is expected to continue to supply vital components such as engines to the new owners of the brand but it will no longer have a say in routine operations.

Richards said that Ford will long be remembered for saving Aston Martin - the brand best known as superspy James Bond's vehicle of choice. "They've been a superb custodian," Richards said. "The task we now have is to build on the strong foundation Ford has left us with."

"Aston Martins were cars you only used every now and then," said Garel Rhys, the director of the Centre for Automotive Industry at Cardiff University in Wales. "You might take one out on the weekend or to a wedding, but only if you were willing to risk being late."

Aston Martin went bankrupt several times before Ford acquired it. The Ford before was the antithesis of the Ford Motor Co. today. With cash overflowing, the Dearborn automaker saw Aston Martin as a key to fill in the international sports car spot in its lineup. "Ford probably feels it's as good as it gets -- and it probably is," Rhys added. Even if Aston Martin remains profitable, Rhys said it will require a major investment to bring new models to market when its current stable reaches the end of its useful life. Rhys also noted that standalone automakers have not been successful in today's marketplace, adding that Aston Martin will have to buck this trend if it is to survive.

But other experts in the auto industry contend otherwise. Justin Mirro, the managing director of Jeffries investment bank and head of its automotive group, said that the deal negotiated between Ford and the consortium is a sound one. "The new ownership of Aston Martin is committed to growing the business globally while protecting the integrity of the brand," said Mirro. "No one is better equipped to lead this growth than David Richards, a passionate supporter of motorsport racing and a successful developer of global brands for many of the automotive OEMs."

Lewis Booth, the head of Ford's European operations, said the decision to sell off Aston Martin makes sense. The automaker, which posted a $12.7 billion loss in 2006, is still in the long process of recovery. Its major restructuring plan would likely to cost billions more. Aston Martin may be profitable, but the automaker needs a timely financial aid to defray restructure expenses. "For Ford, this is a bittersweet day," Booth said. But he added Aston Martin was "a logical divestiture choice. Aston Martin will continue to have a great owner, committed to its future."

After the sale, the automaker will concentrate more on its bread and butter vehicles and is expected to continue with the revelations of new product lines. Its best-selling F-Series, which is equipped with Banks Power and other refined auto parts, will continue to reap the utmost attention from the automaker.

Ford Sells Aston Martin

The Ford Motor Co. earlier sold the Aston Martin, its British luxury sports car unit, to a group of private investors. Sources familiar to the deal said the consideration is about $925 million.

People familiar to the deal said the purchaser is led by David Richards, an auto racing entrepreneur and also the founder of Prodrive Ltd. The latter also runs the Aston Martin racing program. The sources added that Richards will be supported by Kuwait's Investment Dar Co.

Ford sold the Aston Martin brand to raise money to defray restructuring expenses. But it will retain a small stake in the brand. When asked about the sale, a Ford spokesman declined to comment last Sunday.

The automaker bought the majority stake in Aston Martin in 1987. The rest of the stake is purchased in 1994. Last year, Ford posted the biggest annual loss in its 103-year history amounting to $12.7 billion. In view thereof, the automaker closed factories and slashed tens of thousands of jobs as part of the restructure plan.

But the strategies are deemed wanting hence the automaker considered other options available and one of it is selling the Aston Martin brand. "It will give them some more needed capital to fund their restructuring," auto analyst Brad Rubin of BNP Paribas said last Sunday of the Aston Martin sale, "but it really isn't that much money."

The Aston Martin is made equally-famous as agent 007, a.k.a. James Bond, has featured and used the brand’s vehicles in some of his movies. The brand is part of Ford's Premier Automotive Group which also covers Jaguar, Land Rover and Volvo Cars. These brands are famous for the luxury, performance and safety. Jaguar, to boost its design philosophy introduced new lineup to wipe away the boxy image of the automaker. Land Rover, on the other hand, is enhancing its off-road performance. Volvo has achieved an ideal standard in auto safety. Even a simple auto part like the Volvo distributor cap is designed with topmost safety offering in mind.

Among the Premier Automotive Group units, the greatest contributor of losses is Jaguar with $327 million recorded sales decline in 2006. The automaker does not usually divulge any financial information regarding the individual units of the Premier Automotive Group nonetheless the company said Aston Martin is quite profitable.

Aston Martin, headquartered in Gaydon, England, produces about 5,000 cars annually. Each car costs more than $100,000. Considering the standards set by Ford, Aston Martin is not sharing its engineering and auto parts with the rest of Ford brands. Even when the automaker endeavors to make its operations global, the company is preserving the philosophy and standards of Aston Martin.

According to an executive presentation, analysts in the industry said they would prefer that Ford sell the Jaguar brand, which lost more than $700 million last year. The report also predicted that the brand would lose $550 million this year and $300 million in 2008.

2007 Aston Martin DB9 Volante

One day I visited a place where they had some of the most sophisticated vehicles on the planet. The automobile that caught my eyes was the 2007 Aston Martin DB9 Volante which was the only one left on the lot of that particular kind. This car had been on the market for a year which makes it a veterans automobile of the year. I love this car because of its simplicity and convenience. This automobile is an convertible with a sandstorm leather furnish. The 2007 Aston Martin DB9 Volante looks small, but actually its very spacious inside if you look inside.

The 2007 Aston Martin DB9 Volante that I had seen was a dark navy midnight blue automobile. The mileages on this car was 2200 miles inside the engine itself which is perfect due to the fact it's $15,000 dollars. Another thing that surprise me is that the 2007 Aston Martin DB9 Volante is fully operated automatic usage. The engine is a 12 cylinder gasoline glorifying engine. It comes with a touch tronic transmission built inside. The automobile has a updated ready navigation system.

The heated driver seat is built specifically for a king in my opinion. With traction control there is no vehicle accidents on the road if used correctly. Just like the cars of today, the 2007 Aston Martin DB9 Volante has power locks. This car doesn't just come with a built in compact disc player, but you can actually take it out or keep it inside you automobile. When you buy a car like the 2007 Aston Martin DB9 Volante don't forget about the aluminum wheels that comes with the package. Overall, I give this car an 10/10 because of the durability of the automobile.

Aston Martin's Avalanche of Models

Niche car manufacturers like Aston Martin never enjoyed a peaceful life – the fragile sports car market is pretentious and forever changing. Adapting to such an unstable environment is difficult for any sports car manufacturer, whether we’re talking about Ferrari, Porsche or Aston Martin. However, the British company has bright plans concerning their future, plans well supported by the current range of Aston Martin models. The three main pillars that ensure Aston’s success are the DB9, the V8 Vantage and the V12 Vanquish. Let’s have a quick look at each of these fantastic cars.

Aston Martin V12 Vanquish

Equipped with the most powerful engine in any Aston Martin production car, the V12 Vanquish is a technical marvel and a work of art, all at the same time. The Aston V12 Vanquish benefits from a aluminum and composite body, electronic traction control and throttle, a formula-one style six-speed gearbox and all the latest gadgets one could think of. The 5.9-litre V12 is a real “Porsche killer” as many called it. However, the price of the Vanquish is of $220,000. This model was discontinued early in 2007.

Aston Martin DB9

The DB9 is equipped with a 6.0 L 450 brake horsepower (335 kW) V12 engine borrowed from the Aston Martin V12 Vanquish. The DB9 is a direct competitor of the 911 Turbo model from Porsche and the F430 Ferrari. According to Wikipedia, Aston Martin will be revealing the DB9 LM along with the DBS and the V8 Vantage N400 in the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show. The DB9 LM commemorates Aston’s GT1 class victory in the Le Mans 24-hour race in 2007.

Aston Martin V8 Vantage

The Aston Martin V8 Vantage has a 4282 cc engine, producing 380 hp (283 kW) at 7,000 rpm and 302 lb-ft (409 Nm) at 5,000 rpm. The V8 Vantage engine is assembled manually at the Aston Martin factory in Germany and is based on the V8 engine from Jaguar. The performance of the V8 Vantage is excellent, with a 75 mph - 280km/h top speed and a naught to 60 mph time of under 5 seconds.

Future Aston models

A 4-seater sports saloon has been in production for a few years now. It’s called the Rapide and most likely we will see it on the road in 2008. The Aston Martin DBS is another cool model presented to the public with the occasion of the last James Bond movie. Other concept cars have been presented this year, but there are no definitive plans to turn any of them into production vehicles.

The Worst Years of the Mustang

The Mustang II is considered by most Mustang enthusiasts as the worst of the line. By 1974, pollution controls and gas mileage concerns were destroying the previous generation of classic hot rods. Horsepower was becoming a thing of the past, and the Mustang was brought to a lowly state in order to survive this difficult time. The Mustang II incorporated two body styles featuring a two door hard top, and a pinto-like hatch back. There were no convertibles available that year.
The car had two available engines: a 4 cylinder engine with only 88 horsepower, and a German-built 171 ci 2.8L V-6 rated at 105 hp. In 1975, Ford reintroduced the 302 cubic inch small block eight to the Mustang II, but with only 122 horsepower. Compare that to the 2005 model that gets up to 300 hp.
The Mustang II was smaller than the 1960's version, but weighing in at 3,000 pounds and getting a meager 88 hp meant a very sluggish ride. Thankfully, the very popular 2005 Mustang as stated earlier has a lot more power.
The Mustang Ghia was Ford's luxury Mustang that included deluxe seatbelts, digital quartz clock, vinyl seats and door trim, door courtesy lights, rear ashtray, outside remote control mirrors, parking brake boot, pin stripes, and a vinyl roof. Why anyone considered a vinyl roof a luxury is unknown to this day. Maintenance for a vinyl top can be a pain as anyone who has owned one will attest.
The 1970's were a terrible time indeed for Mustangs, but the 1980's would see more of a return to performance. Today's model of Mustang is not only the most popular sports car on the market, it does the original Mustang good with it's 300 hp, and awesome looks.

The Ford Mustang Has It All

One of the cars that immortalized Ford's niche in the car industry, is unarguably the Ford Mustang. This is the car that “started it all.” Since its debut to the public, its sales has been in an upstream direction. It caused panic to other competing brands which were then unprepared for the birth of such a ride. General Motors and Chevrolet were left with the battle to create the car that could top the Mustang. Years later, the Ford Mustang is still one of the bets coupes to ever grace the industry. With its high quality Ford Mustang Parts, one must not contest how this car once dominated the top.
The Ford Mustang is comprised of Ford parts that were designed specifically to help the Mustang perform to its fullest. Every component was engineered to perfection, from the Ford hood up to the Ford Spoiler. This ride may not be as fast and jaw-dropping without the Ford Spoilers. Because of its goal to “spoil” the unfavorable air movement across the body of the Mustang, it improves the car's stability by decreasing its drag, or lift. The Ford Spoiler is among the Ford Mustang Parts that help it to maintain its high performance. It may add that certain flair in the aesthetics of the Mustang, but the Ford Spoiler is definitely not just there to please the eyes---it also pleases one's appetite for the ride that has it all.
All the years that the Ford Mustang has seen through will not be possible without its ever-reliable Ford Mustang Parts. This historic car will remain to be a chosen favorite up to this day, and its accomplishments as a car will be the inspiration for all the other cars. In fact, it took a car like the Ford Mustang for Hollywood to give birth to the most memorable car chase in movies. In the film "Bullitt," Steve McQueen spruces up in his Mustang, all clad in action-packed ardor and glory. And if Hollywood says that it is a hot ride, then the Mustang must really have it all.
